Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
Your career history is personal. This policy explains what Trazerr collects, why, who can see it, and how you stay in control.
The short version
- Your Career DNA, resumes and match results are private to your account.
- An employer only sees your results for their job when you choose to match with it using their Match Code.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- You can permanently delete your account and everything in it at any time from your account page.
What we collect
- Account information — your name, email address and password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see your password).
- What you give us to analyze — resume text, job descriptions, and answers you provide to improve your Career DNA. When you're signed in, we keep a private copy of the resume you upload so you don't have to upload it again. You can remove it at any time from your account page, and it's deleted with your account.
- What Trazerr creates for you — Career DNA profiles, career path analyses, resumes you build, Job DNA, match results and interview guidance.
- Contact details you choose to share — your phone number, email and location. We read these from the contact lines on your resume so you don't have to type them, and they're only shown to an employer if you choose to share them when you match. You can edit them before sharing.
- Commute address (optional) — if you ask to see your commute to a job, the home address or ZIP code you enter. It's used only to work out travel times by car, transit, walking and bike, is never shown to employers, and you can delete it (with every commute worked out from it) from any match page.
- Employer information — for employer accounts, company details submitted for review, jobs you create, and email addresses you choose to invite.
- Basic service records — limited technical logs and records of AI usage (such as which feature ran and when) to keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use it
We use your information to provide Trazerr: building your Career DNA, matching it to jobs you choose, generating resumes and interview guidance, sending account and service emails, reviewing employer applications, and keeping the service secure. We don't use your information for advertising and we don't sell it.
How AI is used
Trazerr uses AI to read resumes and job descriptions and to produce evidence-based analysis. The text you submit is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate those results. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, content sent through its API is not used to train its models. If Anthropic's service is temporarily unavailable, the same request may be handled by our backup AI provider, Google (Gemini API, paid service), whose terms for paid use likewise don't allow submitted content to be used to train its models or improve its products. Every score Trazerr shows is tied to evidence, and Trazerr marks what it could not verify. Trazerr informs decisions — it doesn't make hiring decisions on anyone's behalf.
Voice answers
On the Improve page you can answer questions by speaking. Speech is turned into text by your browser's built-in speech recognition, which your browser maker provides (for example Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari) under their own privacy terms. Trazerr never receives or stores your audio — only the resulting text, which is tidied by our AI provider and treated like a typed answer. You can review and edit the text before it's used.
Who can see your information
- You — everything in your account.
- Employers — only the match result for their job, and only after you enter their Match Code and run the match. If you choose to share your contact details (name, email, phone and location), your uploaded resume or your commute times with that employer, they see those too, for that job only. Shared commute times are minutes only, never your address. You can stop sharing at any time from the match page.
- Trazerr administrators — limited access to operate the service, review employer applications, and handle support or abuse. Administrative actions are logged.
- Service providers — companies that run parts of Trazerr for us, under their own security and confidentiality commitments: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (AI analysis), Google (backup AI analysis, and Google Maps for commute times: your commute address and the job's address are sent to Google to calculate routes) and Resend (email delivery).
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access in our database is enforced per account at the database level, so one user can't read another's data. Employer accounts are reviewed before they can use hiring tools.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. If you build a Career DNA before creating an account, it's kept temporarily in your browser so it can be saved when you sign up. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete individual resumes at any time, and you can permanently delete your whole account from your account page. Deleting your account removes your profile, Career DNA, resumes and matches (and, for employers, your jobs and their results). Limited records may remain in backups for a short period before they are overwritten.
Your choices and rights
You're in control, and you can do all of this yourself from your account page:
- Download your data — one file with everything Trazerr holds about you.
- Withdraw a match — the employer stops seeing your scorecard for that job.
- Delete your Career DNA — every version, with its analyses, while keeping your account.
- Remove your saved resume or delete individual resume versions.
- Delete your account — permanently, with everything in it.
You can also ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Email hello@trazerr.com.
Children
Trazerr is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
